What is BERT ?
(Bit Error Rate Test) An analysis of network transmission efficiency that computes the percentage of bits received in error from the total number sent.
**this test is used to check efficiency of the transmission , see how often the error occur during transmission
What is Trunk ?
What is Trunk Cable ?
**A communications channel between two points.
**It typically refers to large-bandwidth telephone channels between switching centers that handle many simultaneous voice and data signals.
**A circuit from a user's terminal or PC to a network is more appropriately called a line rather than a trunk, although the terms line, trunk and circuit are often used synonymously.
**Trunck Cable = The bundle of cables

What is omnidirectional
In all directions. For example, an omnidirectional antenna can pick up signals in all directions.
** example antenna for CAR & Our WAP ( Access Point’s antenna )
** receive signal from all direction
** antenna type : Vertical Antenna
There are 2 types of Antenna
**(a) Directional ( point to point ) , example : Yagi Antenna ; use to bridge WAP to WAP
**(b) omnidirectional ( point to multi point )
**Directional is stronger strength than omnidirectional .
**Directional is very sensitive to direction and must adjust to correct point than only can
receive the strong signal
[Q44]
The main configuration /setting for WAP (access point device ) are :-
**SSID ( sort of username or the WAP’s name )
**WEP ( password for this WAP ; usually called it as “key” )
**Channel ( 2.4xGHZ ; “x” is the number like “1” , “2” etc , it can be 2.41 GHZ , 2.42 GHZ etc )
SSID and WEP , sometime come in with default setting , therefore always advised to set it to what user’s want , change the SSID , change the WEP (key) .
For security , we should even disable the broadcast of the SSID.
SSID and WEP are just like username & password .
The setting of the SSID & WEP are for security and privacy purpose . It wouldn’t affect the WAP’s performance and it wouldn’t cause any signal interference .
But , the Channel setting will affect the signal interference. If few WAPs are using the same channel , it can cause the interference between them.
